A candidate seeking admission to Medical Lab Technologist or Technician courses should have qualified 10+2 or equivalent with 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
Taking a vocational stream with Medical Lab Technology as one of the subjects at +2 level, will be an added advantage.
Undergraduate courses in medical lab science are available in different names like BSc Medical Lab Technology and BMLT(Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology) . The duration of these courses is three years . A few institutions provide 4 year degree programs as well.
DMLT is a 2 year undergraduate diploma program and the qualification required is passing 10+2 or equivalent.
Certification courses in Medical Lab Technology are also available after 10+2 or equivalent examination.
A person with a bachelor's Degree in Medical Lab Technology from a recognized institution would be eligible for admission in PG courses like MMLT OR MSc MLT. The duration of these courses is two years.
