As a general manager, you’ll be an executive in charge of the day to day activities of business, overseeing all the administrative functions of the organisation.
A general manager formulates the overall strategy and establish policies in order to ensure that the organisation meets its planned goals. They coordinate different processes and operations across the organisation. They perform a supervisory role in all the functional areas including finance, accounting, human resources, sales, marketing, and research and development.

Direct and coordinate all divisional department activities to develop and implement organizational goals and objectives
Review reports on operations, costs and department’s or division’s progress toward stated goals and objectives
Discuss and review achievements with CEO and identify required changes in current goals or objectives
Review production and operating reports and resolve any problems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Review operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning
Review and approve preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning
Candidates with any stream at the plus two level are eligible for higher studies in management subjects. But plus two in commerce is always an added advantage.
To build a career in General Management, you can take a bachelor's degree in any discipline. However choosing a management related degree like BBA/BMS/BBM/B.Com is advisable. The duration of this program is usually 3 years.
