As a ceramic designer you will be using your creative skills and expertise to design and create a range of pottery objects for functional and decorative purposes.
Ceramics designers create designs for domestic and commercial tableware and kitchenware, sculptures, jewellery, garden pots and wall or floor tiles, that are then produced from clay, porcelain, bone china and stoneware. They may work as consultant designers for large companies interpreting a product brief and turning it into a commercially successful design for large scale production.
Taking any stream at plus two level and securing good score would be the prerequisite for getting admission into B.des programme. However exposure to science subjects at plus two level especially chemistry and physics may help the students when the study about materials and their characteristics at their bachelors .
Bachelor’s in Ceramic and Glass design is a three years long program which is provided by many institutions.
This would be a two year long program and the admission will be based on the entrance test and student’s performance in designing.
