As a chemical engineer, you will be designing and developing chemical manufacturing processes that are in compliance with the environmental regulations and the required standards of safety.
Chemical engineers conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes for the production of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastics, food products, textiles and other goods. They monitor performance and troubleshoot problems related to these processes and also design and plan the layout of equipment and establish safety protocols for working with dangerous chemicals.
To be eligible for admission to an undergraduate course in chemical engineering, you need to study Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level . The other subjects to be taken are English along with one of the subjects Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. However choosing Chemistry would be an added advantage
