A Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) is a state owned enterprise/corporation. The company stock needs to be majority owned by the government to be a PSU. PSU can be classified into 3 types which are Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), and Public Sector Banks (PSBs).There are 8 Maharatnas, 16 Navratnas, 74 Miniratnas and nearly 300 CPSEs(central public sector enterprises) in total.
