Event managers plan, organise, promote and run events, conferences and functions for a variety of organisations, communities, groups and individuals.
An event planner ensures everything related to an event is taken care of, from idea conception to programming and day-of logistics. An event planner is charged with creating experiences and bringing visions to life. Meeting with clients, managing vendor relationships and client communications, establishing and negotiating contracts, and managing budgets are all part of the job.
Candidates with a +2 qualification (any stream) are eligible for higher studies in event management.

Masters in event management are 2 year post graduation program ,for which graduate in any discipline is the minimum eligibility for admission. MBA/MA in Event Management are the common course available in this area.
Under Graduates in any discipline or diploma holders in event management are eligible for PG diploma in Event Management. Duration of these programs are 1-2 years depending on the institution.

The manager should have the ability to listen carefully and speak with clarity. It is important that the event manager understands what the client needs and then find ways to fulfill those needs or come up with different options.
