What do event managers do?

An event planner ensures everything related to an event is taken care of, from idea conception to programming and day-of logistics. An event planner is charged with creating experiences and bringing visions to life. Meeting with clients, managing vendor relationships and client communications, establishing and negotiating contracts, and managing budgets are all part of the job.

What does a typical day at work involve?

How to start a career in Event Manager ?

Step 1
Take any Stream at +2 level

Candidates with a +2 qualification (any stream) are eligible for higher studies in event management.

Step 2
Take a Bachelors’ Degree

Only very few institutes provide a bachelors degree in this core area( like BBA/BMS in event management). Someone interested to pursue a career in event management can do an undergraduate in any degree and go for a specialisation in PG .

Note : Diploma/certificate programs in Event Management

One year Diploma programs in event management are available after 10+2.

Step 3
Take Masters Degree in Event Management

Masters in event management are 2 year post graduation program ,for which graduate in any discipline is the minimum eligibility for admission. MBA/MA in Event Management are the common courses available in this area.

Note : Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management

Under Graduates in any discipline or diploma holders in event management are eligible for PG diploma in Event Management.The Duration of these programs are 1-2 years depending on the institution.
