As a botanist and plant scientist, you will be studying about plant life including their structure, properties, and biochemical processes. By specialising in this field, you will get to know about various plant species and their characteristics in detail.
A Botanist researches on various categories of plant life. They determine how different plants behave in different environments. They conduct researches in laboratories and outside and also discover novel species. They will be also studying how certain plants can affect the chemical makeup in solutions used for food, medicine, building materials etc.
The minimum eligibility is at least a 55% aggregate score in science stream with physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology as the main subjects.
This is a 3 year course. This is the minimum requirement for post graduation in the field of Botany.
An undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences or Environmental Sciences would also make you eligible for post graduation.
Msc Botany is a 2 year course. The minimum requirements and the admission requirements would vary depending on the institutions.
After pursuing MSc, A higher degree would make you eligible for research related careers.
