As a physiologist, you will be studying the biological and chemical processes that are involved in the functioning of living organisms to provide useful information for agriculture,food production and medical science.
Physiologists conduct research on the functional aspects of plant, animal or human body. They study respiration, circulation, excretion, reproduction and growth of living organisms under normal and abnormal conditions and provide valuable inputs to areas of pharmaceutical development, disease identification and treatment.

Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects are eligible for physiology programs at the undergraduate level. Minimum marks requirement may vary from institute to institute.
BSc Physiology programs are available only in very few colleges in India. Students who wish to pursue a career in Physiology can opt for a bachelor's degree in any biological sciences before doing a Physiology specialisation at the postgraduate level. BSc courses are usually 3 year programs.
Candidates who are seeking admissions to MSc Physiology must have passed BSc Physiology or any bachelor's degree with one subject of biological science. The duration of this program is usually two years.
MPhil/PhD admission requirements vary from colleges to colleges. Few institutes conduct their own test and interview as a part of their admission procedure. Candidates must hold a post graduation in the specific field or equivalent as a minimum requirement for MPhil/PhD.
