As a Unani practitioner, you recognize the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical causes of medical conditions and provide treatment involving the use of herbal remedies, dietary practices, and alternative therapies. Unani medicine is an ancient Greek system of medicine based on the qualities of four temperaments and four humors.
Unani Practitioners examine the patient, take medical histories, diagnose a disease through Nabz (pulse), which is felt by fingers, and treat medical ailments using any of the modes depending upon the nature of the ailment and its causes such as Regimental therapy, Dietotherapy, Pharmacotherapy and Surgery.
A candidate seeking admission to Unani Course must have passed, 10+2 or its equivalent examination with an aggregate fifty per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and the candidate should have passed 10th standard with Urdu or Arabic or persian language as a subject, or clear the test of Urdu in the entrance examination conducted by the University or Board.
Pre-Tib Course is a full time course of one year duration leading to main Unani Degree. A pre-tib course will act as a sufficient qualification for admission into BUMS. A candidate seeking admission to Pre-Tib course must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent.
Admission to BUMS courses is done through NEET-UG .Few seats are Reserved for Pre-Tib Holders. The duration of BUMS shall be five years and six month including 12 months compulsory internship.
The duration of Post-Graduate Degree Courses is three years. Admissions are made on the basis of AIAPGET Score.The name of the Postgraduate Degrees are Mahir-e-Tib (Doctor of Medicine) and Mahir-e-Jarahat (Master of Surgery)
The duration of Post-Graduate Diploma Courses is two years.
