As a social worker in the area of Ecology and Environment you will work towards identifying,controlling and preventing environmental disruption caused by human activities.
Environmental social workers study the effects of human interaction with the environment and plan and implement programs aimed at finding solutions to problems that result from these interactions. They create awareness among the public regarding protection of the environment and about reducing pollution and waste.
Taking any stream in +2 would make you eligible for the undergraduate Course. However taking Science with Biology or Humanities with Geography/ Economics would give you a better perspective.
To build a career in this field, you can take a B.A in Environmental Studies which is a 3 years course. Another pathway to this career is opting for Bachelors in Social Work which is of 3 years duration.
This is a 2 year course. The eligibility criteria would vary depending on the institutions.
